Rare Dimension

What things cost

Let’s talk money

We’re a small team with modern tools, no office, and very little overhead, so our prices come in well under what bigger agencies charge. The goal: top-of-industry work at a price that makes sense for a community organization.

$6,000 to $9,000

Why the range

No two projects are quite the same. The services you pick, the complexity, the functionality and the timeline all move the number, and bigger organizations, the ones with hundreds of pages and several systems to move, run higher. Smaller jobs happen too: plenty of our work is a few hundred dollars and a couple of days.

How we land on a number

We start with a short intro call. We learn how your organization works and what it needs, put together a small proposal your board and leadership team can review, and settle on the cost together.

If your site is a mess

However rough your current site is, we have seen worse. Untangling it is honestly the part we enjoy.

Making the case

How other organizations find the money.

A new site or brand usually needs a yes from someone: a grantmaker, a board, a leadership team. Communications and technology work is fundable, and the case is much easier to make when you can show clearly what is wrong and what it will take to fix.

That is what our site analysis is for. For $100 we go through your site page by page, measure it against modern UI/UX standards and marketing principles, and write up what we find in plain language. It is a document you can hand to a funder or put in front of your board, and they will see what needs improving without you having to argue it. We will write whatever quote or letter of support your application needs, and if you hire us for anything else, the $100 comes off that bill.

If the yes comes through a year from now, we will still be here.

The part we care about most

Partnership

All of us have worked inside nonprofits, and we have all lived the same story: a designer builds something nice, hands it off, and disappears. Six months later something breaks and nobody knows who to call.

We built Rare Dimension to be the opposite of that. We stick around. The launch is not the end of the relationship, it is the start of one, and we keep doing the design and development work for the long haul: updates, new pages, print pieces, weird problems, all of it.

Like having us on staff, minus the payroll.

“They understand the nonprofit domain intuitively.”

Basics

$150/mo

Hosting and routine updates. If the site ever goes down, we step in and fix it.

Essentials Where most land

$300/mo

Everything above, plus new pages when you need them, changes to how things work, and quick answers whenever you reach out.

Partner

$500/mo

Everything above, plus frequent content and page updates, design work, strategy and training. For large, busy sites.

None of it is a requirement: retainers are month to month, there are no contracts, and you can change tiers or step away whenever you like. Not sure a retainer fits? That is completely fine. Occasional help is $100 an hour. Email us when you need something, we will give you an estimate before we start, and you pay for the time it takes.

A note on money

If these numbers do not fit yours, let’s find something that does.

We started this to support people doing good work in our communities, and we know nonprofit budgets ebb and flow.

Scope, timing, and payments can all flex. What matters to us is the partnership, not the invoice.

Two ways to start

Your email can be two sentences. “Our site is a mess, can you look at it?” is plenty.
Either one gets you a person, usually the same day, and there is no pitch waiting at the end of it. Or just say hello.
