brief
TwispWorks operates a 6.4-acre community campus in the Methow Valley, a rural region where word of mouth carries most of the information. They house over 35 businesses, artists, and organizations, provide education services, and manage event space for the community. Their website didn't show any of that. Someone landing on it couldn't tell who was on campus or what they did, so the work happening there stayed invisible to the people nearby most likely to use it.
strategy
We rebuilt the site with one goal: make the community visible. The centerpiece is a live map that shows the organizations and people on campus, so "we house 35+ businesses" becomes something you can look at and click through. We also directed a series of videos about specific initiatives, including an animated explainer for the Methow Investment Network, one of their main programs. Each piece was there to show what the campus actually is.
Live Map
The campus layout is confusing. It was built as a U.S. Forest Service ranger station, so the buildings never got clear signage or an obvious order to them. Visitors would arrive not knowing who was in which building or when they'd be open. We built an interactive map that lets people click a building to see who occupies it, what they do, and their hours. The map is hand-drawn and overlaid on satellite imagery, so the buildings and roads are exact in size and placement. It's built into the WordPress CMS, so the campus team can update it themselves as organizations move or change hours.

Methow Investment Network
The Methow Investment Network is a local lending program, and it was hard to understand from the outside. People didn't know how it worked or what applying involved. Loans are intimidating, and without a clear explanation the network wasn't reaching the people it was built for. We handled that with two pieces. Designer and motion graphics artist Isaac Sommers made an animated explainer that walks people through what the network is and why it exists in the Methow Valley.

Alongside it, we built a visual application timeline that lays out the steps of applying for a loan, so applicants can see the whole process at a glance.

Annual Report & Strategic Plan
We made two pieces for different audiences. The annual report is a 14-page document covering the full year. We wrote the copy, shot the photography, and designed the layout. We then condensed it into a smaller brochure sized for mailing, so the same story could go out to people's mailboxes.

Separately, we designed the strategic plan as a compact two-sided sheet that holds a lot of information and still reads at a glance. Both pieces use the same look, so TwispWorks reads the same in print as it does online.
