What We Do
We build brands and websites for organizations doing good work, and we stay on to look after them once they’re live.
Discovery & Strategy
Every project starts with research and planning. We look at your current site, work out who it’s really for, and write a plan that fits your goals and your budget.See a timelineBranding & Guidelines
Some organizations have institutional brand guidelines we have to work inside. Others are starting from nothing. Either way we build a design system your team can keep using after we hand it over.See some branding we’ve done- Our main thing
Design & Coding
We rebuild old sites as clean, fast ones. Everything is custom built rather than assembled from a heavy off-the-shelf theme, so the code stays readable and the design holds up for years.See all our work Creative

About Us

How we work with you.
Our Approach
We bring outdated, bloated sites into the modern age without throwing out what already works.
We don't load your site with tools built for someone else's use case. We write the functionality you need and nothing more, which keeps the site fast, secure, and maintainable for years to come.
Your organization will change, and your site should change with it.
That means an editing setup your staff can actually use, and documentation that makes sense. When you need to add a new program, launch a campaign, or hand things off to a new team member, you won't be starting from scratch or waiting on us to make it happen.
Some clients have an in-house team ready to take over. Others want us to keep running things.
We plan carefully and we tell you what's going on in plain language. No decisions made without your input, and no surprises on the invoice. We explain the reasoning behind our recommendations so you know what you're paying for.
How we get there
Our Process
Our process keeps things moving with clear phases and regular check-ins, so there's no guesswork about what comes next.
Discovery & Strategy
We start by listening: what’s working, what’s not, and what your audience actually needs. From there we map out the project together, including site structure, features, and timelines. You get a written plan before any design begins.
Design
This is where it gets visual. We create mockups and design systems that feel right for your brand, refining until everything clicks.
Development
We build your site from the ground up with custom code and functionality made for your needs. You’ll see progress along the way on a staging server, with regular check-ins.
Content & Migration
We help move your existing content over (or create new content if needed), optimize for search engines, and train your team on how everything works.
Testing & Launch
Before going live, we test on every browser and device. When we’re confident it’s solid, we flip the switch.
Support & Maintenance
We're here after launch too, for occasional updates or an ongoing maintenance retainer.
Testimonials
What clients
have said about us
The best part of what we do is the people we get to do it with. Here's what they think:
Jake RennerSmiling Woods Yurts“These guys rebuilt our website and brand from scratch, and the results speak for themselves. The configuration tool they built streamlined our entire sales-to-manufacturing pipeline. What used to fall through the cracks is now documented and repeatable. They understood the technical side of our business quickly and built solutions that actually work on the ground. Solid team, solid work.”
Sammantha BirchTwispWorks Foundation“They took a 6.4-acre campus full of artists, nonprofits, and organized chaos and somehow made the whole thing make sense online. Fast, thoughtful, and genuinely fun to work with, which matters when you’re a small-town operation trying to punch above your weight. They built us tools our team can actually use, not just admire. That’s rare. Can’t recommend them enough.”
Riane EislerCenter for Partnership“Rare Dimension has designed four nonprofit websites for us, each one beautiful, strategic, and built to last. They’re a deeply creative team with an exceptional eye for design, and they truly get what nonprofits need. They also handle our ongoing maintenance and updates, which they do just as well as the original builds. I recommend them without hesitation.”
Mona Abu RayyanWomen for Afghan Women“Rare Dimension is extraordinarily fast, has a great sense of design, and understands the nonprofit domain intuitively. They’re responsive, patient, and take time to explain things clearly. In close to 20 years working in communications, I’ve rarely found a team with their technical expertise who is also so pleasant to work with.”
Dominic BiscaretSweet Jayne“Rare Dimension digs into a project and views themselves not only as a consultant but as an ally to any company they’re working with. Simply put, they want our business to succeed and want to take that journey with us. Choose Rare Dimension for your design work. You absolutely will not be disappointed!”
Elena MarshMethow Made“This magazine finally feels like the Valley. It has personality, it has heart, and every maker in it looks the way they should. Rare Dimension was a joy to collaborate with and they cared about getting it right, not just getting it done. We look forward to working with them again!”
Sarah GertstenzangAFFCNY.org“It was a terrific experience to work with Grant and Matt. They came to our project with all the skills we needed. The communication was topnotch and all inevitable adjustments to the work plan were thoughtfully worked through. We are thrilled with the final product!”
